Scabiosa stellata. This plant produces pretty pincushion flowers in a rather nondescript shade of lavender. But give them time and they will put on a show with crisp globes packed with delicately striped seed heads. They work fresh when they have a greenish cast or when dried to a light tan color. A favorite!
