Scabiosa Fata Morgana

Scabiosa atropurpurea. Somewhere between apricot, peach and blush – that’s the color of Fata Morgana. According to legend, Morgana was a fairy enchantress and half-sister to King Arthur. There is also an optical illusion known as Fata Morgana that makes it appear that ships on the horizon are floating above the water. What does this have to do with a dainty, lovely, perennial flower? Nothing we can figure, but it’s interesting.
