Pitcher Plant

Sarracenia hybrids. Offering two-year old, seed-grown hybrids of crosses between Sarracenia flava and Sarracenia purpurea. The species are native to the eastern US and these crosses are expected to be hardy to at least zone 5. They are carnivorous plants that catch insects which feed the plants so fertilizer is not necessary. Because they grow in bogs, they make a nice addition to water gardens. The leaves, or pitchers, can reach 24” and are useful, exotic cut flowers.
