Mahogany Hibiscus

Hibiscus acetosella. A beautiful focal plant in the garden with deep red leaves and tall stature, reaching 3-4 feet in one season. This plant is perennial in sub-tropical zones but grows quickly enough to be useful for cut foliage by late summer. The leaves look like red Japanese maple and work well in summer and fall arrangements. Harvest mature stems as new growth will often wilt.
