DemoAs we wait for the permit to be issued, the crew of Clark’s Home Improvement began interior demolition today. I’ve worked with Clark before and I know he’ll do a good job. But after so many months of planning and waiting—for financing, and plans, and permits and scheduling—everything is speeding up faster than expected. Zero to sixty and I’m catching my breath.

It was mother nature who got things going this week. All the rain she gave us forced Clark to put off work on a big roof project and bumped mine up a few days. We can’t break ground until the permit is issued, but interior demo can begin. I hate to put so much into a landfill and I’ve asked Clark to salvage all he can that’s potentially reusable.

When I arrived at lunchtime the crew had let themselves in, through the now-removed bedroom window. Seems the key I had made was not so necessary after all! Clark had marked out construction lines for me to see—right over the pile of mulch and the bulkhead door. It’s the prettiest orange line I’ve ever seen.
