Finally Footings!
Today was one of those days when too much happened to capture in one entry. Todd the town inspector signed off on the framing for the footing and Tony the curmudgeonly FHA inspector wrote up another draw request so maybe, the [insert preferred expletive] bankers at Bank of America will let me have some of my money to pay for all that’s been done. FYI, if you have a choice, NEVER go with Bank of America for a 203k. They are, from my experience and that of the inspector, invariably, incredibly difficult to work with. Also FYI, M&T Bank here in this area is said by many to be a pleasure to deal with. Wish I’d known.
Back to the day-that-too-much-happened, the long awaited footings were finally poured today! Although I wished I could have been on site to capture the moment, I had that pesky work thing to do. But when I hurried back late in the day, there they were in all their grey-green glory, the foundation of the foundation. Meanwhile, Sam has continued his work opening up the interior. But that’s a story for tomorrow…
