Rockin'

Sheetrock, like everything on this project, is taking more time than expected. We’re a couple of weeks in and while progress can be seen, there’s so much more to do.

Adding walls is bittersweet. The wonderful open vistas are disappearing. I can no longer see the backyard from my bedroom. But the volumes are taking shape as what was once in my head becomes real. Thankfully, the space is mostly as I imagined, but still it has me charmed and excited. Finally I can feel myself living here.

The ceilings in the oldest part of the house took a full week to level and make other adjustments. But Eric said he wanted to get the hardest part out of the way. Even harder for me would be the loft ceiling but with borrowed scaffolding, Eric and Eric made quick work of that area.

I’ll need to celebrate small victories as we slog through this stage for weeks to come.
